USA Cycling recently announced the creation of a new professional cross-country mountain bike series designed to recognize the top off-road racers in America. The USA Cycling Pro Mountain Bike Cross Country Tour presented by Sho-Air (ProXCT) will consist of seven events throughout the U.S. sanctioned by Union Cycliste Internationale.

The Ski Area Environmental Scorecard, published by the Ski Area Citizens’ Coalition, is an independent review that provides consumers a way to assess resorts’ environmental stewardship. This year, 16 of 83 resorts evaluated boosted their scores.

The origins of Michigan Sports & Fitness magazine will always be tied to the Iceman Cometh Mountain Bike Race. An Iceman article appeared in issue #1 and it was where we made our first national advertising sale. So, we thought, what better way to celebrate our birthday than to weave the story celebrating our 10th anniversary together with coverage of Iceman 2008?

Ron Olson, chief of the DNR Parks and Recreation Division, wants Michigan Outdoor Athletes to know there are state parks or recreation areas that remain open for camping and other outdoor recreation year-round for your winter camping adventures. Some offer rustic camping with no amenities, while others offer semi-modern campsites with electricity.
